-- PREPARING FILES FOR DIGITAL PRINTING -
Best File Formats:
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, EPS, or a Hi-Resolution TIFF
File Preparation:
All Fonts should be converted to outlines or curves, or screen & printer fonts should be included.
Proportions of the document should match the desired final size.
Artwork allows for finishing (sleeves, hem, etc.) without sewing through copy or images.
All files are saved in an editable format. Do not parse or embed files. Adobe Photoshop files should be left as layers. Do not flatten the image.
Each layout is saved as its own file, and all support files are available.
Only send the files needed to produce the job.
Resolution should be no more than 300dpi at full size
Colours are specified & Proof is included
Colour Matching:
All files should be saved in CMYK colour mode.
When working with 4-colour images or illustrations, please provide a match print for us to follow for proper colour reproduction.
Exact colour matches are not always possible, if colours are critical, be sure to request a colour sample, otherwise we will use our best judgment when reproducing your image.
Building Vector Files:
All text and line art should be created in a vector-based program such as Adobe Illustrator.
Gradients created in these applications have the tendency to show “banding” when reproduced at a large size. For best results, gradients should be created in raster based programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, and then imported into your vector document.
When linking raster images to your vector documents, please be sure to send all support files – do not embed placed artwork.
